Scavenger Hunt - May 27, 2012

Interesting prompts this week for Scavenger Hunt! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else found.

Face Your Fears - With the weather forecast showing the return of heat and humidity, I am FORCED to face my biggest fear....putting on a bathing suit! Don't worry....I would never post a pic of me in my selection!

Beneath Your Feet - Once I reluctantly squeezed myself into one of the dreaded bathing suits, all I could think about was getting my feet in the pool.  It will be July until I get any more of my body in there!

Texture - Any idea what this is?
It is the most delicioius, juicy cantaloupe I've had since last summer.  There is nothing better than when the summer fruits and vegetables make their appearance!

Capturing Movement - This was from my trip to the zoo last week. This tiger/Spider Man hybrid exhausted me...and I don't even know him!

Currently - This is what is keeping me away from my camera! I've had my nose buried in books.  I read Divergent in two days and couldn't wait to jump right into Insurgent.  If you enjoyed The Hunger Games, I highly recommend this series.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to check out everyone else's interpretations of this week's prompts.

Scavenger Hunt - May 20, 2012

Another week, another hunt! It was wonderful to use my camera as an excuse to get out and enoy this GORGEOUS weather we've had.  The sky is so blue. The trees are so green. The pollen is overwhelming.  It's Spring!

I am including 2 photos for this prompt. This one is the sign for The Philadelphia Zoo...
America's FIRST zoo.

And this one is my favorite statue at the zoo.  It was my favorite when I was a child, and it still is. That Mama Hippo makes me so happy!
I was taking pictures of this fountain, took a step to my left, and this rainbow appeared. When I took another step, it was not visible. Talk about being in the right spot and the right time! Thank you for the "rainbow" prompt this week!

Letters make words. Words that nobody bothers to read :)

I'm off to check out all the other Scavenger Hunt photos! Have a great week!

Scavenger Hunt May 13, 2012

I've been out of sorts for the past couple of weeks and had no motivation to do Scavenger Hunt last week. Then on Sunday, as I looked at everyone else's photos, I was disappointed with myself. So this week I am back in the hunt.

To say that this week was a busy one is an understatement. This week my "baby" graduated from college.  So many feelings! I am blessed with two beautiful, intelligent, compassionate daughters. Now that both are officially "adults"  I am shocked by my crazy feelings. I am so proud of my girls, but feel like my identity is changing as well as theirs. It's been a wonderful few days with my family and while this week's photos may not be creative, they show the best parts of me.

Sidewalk - Yes...this is my graduate. Yes...she is walking the streets of North Philly BAREFOOT! She may have earned her college degree, but she has not learned that high heels and walking all over campus are not a good combination. Well....maybe after this day she learned although I doubt it.

Inspiring - Nothing more inspiring than my wonderful family. My beautiful girls make me smile and fill my heart with joy.  My amazing husband  keeps me sane and somehow survived in a house overflowing with estrogen. (Thanks to my daughter's boyfriend for actually taking this photo for me. It's so unusual for me to be IN a picture!)

Close up - Happy Mother's Day to me :)

With mirror - The graduation celebration continued the next day with a Phillies game.  The best part of a Phillies games is the tailgating.  As you can see in the reflection, we like to start tailgating early.  Notice how many cars are in the lot!  According to my husband, it is NEVER be too early to tailgate.  Technically this isn't a mirror, but the sunglasses worked perfectly.

Time - Time for the Phillies game!  This was taken at 8:03 according to the Sherwin Williams clock! I just love the view of the Philadelphia skyline from behind home plate.

Thank you to my family for giving me so much to celebrate this Mother's Day. I am truly blessed.
