Scavenger Hunt - June 3, 2012

June? Already? Time just keeps flying by...and this week really flew.  It went by so quickly that I had to hit the archives for the first two prompts...which was fine with me because I was looking for an excuse to use some photos from this outing!

Shine - A couple of weeks ago my sister and I went to a car show.  Anyone who knows us realizes how comical that sounds. We said a lot of  "OOOOO....that's a pretty color!" and "Wow....look how old THIS one is!"  We both were fascinated by the hood ornaments.  I wish I could put this shiny one on the hood of my Subaru!

Fast - We agreed....THIS is the car we both wanted. How can you not fall in love with a car this color?! I'm sure I would drive this baby way too fast! It's really not a stretch because I drive every car too fast.

Left - George Washington slept here.  Well actually, this is what is LEFT of one of the many places George Washington slept. Being a Founding Father of America required a lot of nights on the road, and living in the Philadelphia area means there are quite a few local spots where George laid his head.

Peace - "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." ~ John Muir

Plain - I was carrying groceries into the house and I looked down at this leaf laying on our freshly mowed lawn. It is just a plain old rotting leaf, but it looked so lacey and delicate.

Thanks for stopping by...feel free to leave a comment!

  5. Oh my, I love your last three shots. (Sorry, not really into cars, but nature, now that I can get into). I love the leaf, can't believe all those veins are still there. And your peace picture is beautiful. I really love the stones in the Left shot.

  9. That turquoise car I can see being driven real fast too! You hair covered in a long salmon colored scarf, blowing behind you in the breeze. The big sunglasses and of course, some Beach Boys rocking out on the radio while you cruise down the shoreline!

  10. Brilliant - your discussion as well as your photos. I would have approached the car show with the same interest - more about the details and colors than the actual make and model.

  26. These are wonderful images! I'd have to say the first two are my favorites. We go to a lot of car shows with our 1940 Ford pickup. I'm always amazed at the hood ornaments and the beautiful interiors! I also love to look at their license plates. They can come up with the most clever words to use on their old cars!!

    1. Thanks Cathy! Next time I go to a car show I will have to check out the plates.
