Scavenger Hunt...July 29, 2012

And here we go....another Scavenger Hunt!

Paint - Why is it that I always see graffiti around, but when I am searching for some to photograph it's so hard to find?!

Green - Green is a difficult color to find these days. It's been so hot that things that should be green are more of a brown.

Eyelashes - It seems like my grand-nephew enjoys plunging his face in the water! It's not fair that any boy inherits lashes this long.
Shapes - Squares, squares, and more squares.

Clouds - One evening this week we were out for dinner with my sister and brother-in-law.  We walked out of the restaurant and the sky was covered with the most amazing clouds.  Of course, neither of us had our cameras.  I drove home really fast, grabbed my camera, and snapped away. That one cloud looked like it was glowing!

Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to check out your finds!

Scavenger Hunt...July 22, 2012

What a busy week!  Last weekend my sister and I spent a stinking hot  fun-filled weekend in Denver, Colorado.  We had a great time catching up with family and spent several hours with our cameras. (note - mine is still un-named. I am open to suggestions!) We were hoping that the prompts would fit all of the photos we took.  No such least for me.  Luckily (??) this weekend was a busy one too.

Wrapped - After an overnight trip with Hubby, we hit the road at 6:30AM Saturday.  I have no idea why we left so early, but we did.  I have no idea why I was actually awake, but I was.  Awake enough to grab my camera and capture some shots of the mountains of central Pennsylvania wrapped in fog.

Time Together - After getting home, I took off for a local Celtic Festival.  Bagpipe music fascinates me, as do bagpipers.  Where else in the U.S.A. can a man wear a skirt kilt and knee socks an blend right in?  These bagpipers spent their time together entertaining me and quite a few other people.
Tell me a story - OK...This will take a couple of pictures though! Part of the musical entertainment was a family who played fiddles, flutes, bagpipes, drums and also threw in some Celtic Step Dancing .  The youngest member of the family is 6 years old and his fiddle is pint-sized! As he started to play with the family, he looked a little unhappy to be pulled away from the "normal" play of a little boy...
...but, as he played, he obviously was enjoying the admiration of the audience and was happy to be making toe-tapping music with his family.

Love or Couple - As the music continued, this couple jumped up to dance.  They must be in love...they are in synch and even dress alike. They were great!

Duplicated - My ONE photo from last weekend that fit a prompt!  Each floor was a duplicate of the one above and below it.

Thanks for dropping by! I'm off to check out your photos.........Karen

Scavenger Hunt...July 15, 2012

This has never happened! It is WEDNESDAY, and I am putting my blog together.  (I realize that you aren't reading this until at least Sunday, but I am usually doing this Saturday afternoon)  Why so may ask??  I am on a road trip with my Sis and Mom.  Wait...I guess it's an "air" trip since we used a plane instead of a car.  Regardless, us girls are taking a loooooong overdue trip to visit family....and probably take TONS of pics :)

Water - This is the view of my pool as I sit on the side. I do that alot!

Petal - One lonely petal from a Gerbera Daisy

Fresh - One "fresh" lily amid the shriveled flowers.

Eight - After taking this, I "ate" my "eight".  (For the record, eight wasn't nearly enough!)

Calm - This is my beautiful niece holding herbeautiful niece, my grandniece. Aren't they both beautiful?! This is a monumental event because my niece is just a little bit scared of crying babies :)  No tears here...from either of them  <3

Happy Sunday to you all!  See you next week....but I'm sure I won't be ready early again :)  Linking up to Sarah at The Naptime Momtog who is is graciously hosting Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  Welcome back Ashley!

Scavenger Hunt ~ July 1, 2012

I've been on an emotional roller coaster for the last two weeks. This week I pulled my camera out to distract me from my thoughts.  This has been a week of life events....a baby shower, the funeral of my wonderful mother in law, the birth of a baby, and a wedding to cap the week off.  I'm hoping this week is a quiet one!

Sweet - What could be SWEETer than a proud Papa showing off his precious baby?  Daddy happily showed all of us the ultrasound pics of his son, and then hung around the shower to keep an eye on his wife.  Good thing....little did we know Baby would be born the next day!

Space - And on the same theme as above....the happiness shining from this beautiful bride's face, and the pride of her dear Daddy filled the SPACE with joy.  What could be sweeter than a proud Papa showing off his precious baby?

Funny Face - This is my very happy husband serenading one of his babies at her childhood friend's wedding.  I look at this picture and I can hear her contagious laughter.

Hanging Around - And here are the stunning bride and handsome groom HANGING AROUND after the wedding ceremony.  So much happiness!

Sunset - Had to hit the archives for this one...but that's OK because I look at this picture quite often.  This is a sunset in Hawaii.  Looking at this photo brings me peace...and it's much prettier than any sunsets I saw this week!

As I was wandering around with my camera the day after my mother in law's funeral, I came across this beautiful statue.  She looks so serene...a reminder to me that Heaven has another beautiful angel to watch over our family.
