Scavenger Hunt....October 28, 2012

I'm taking a temporary break in preparations for "Sandy", "Frankenstorm", "The Storm of a Lifetime",  or whatever you want to call the menace of a storm that has its sights on the northeast coast of the USA.  I've missed the last couple of weeks of Scavenger Hunt, but I felt the need to take my camera back out and rejoin. I've discovered that observing life through a lens is a great source of relaxation for me.  Sometimes you have to step away to see what you're missing.

Signs or Logos ~ Not an especially pretty photo, but I love the sentiment. Beer...DEFINITELY the Family Beverage of THIS family!

Rocks or Stones ~ Just one of the reasons I haven't had time to take many photos lately. At least not since my return from Disney World where my daughter's now "fiance" planned a beautiful proposal during the fireworks, and surprised my daughter even more by having both families there.  Nice rock and a fantastic engagement!

Sparkle ~ My plan was to use the above photo for this prompt, but then I took this photo and fell in love with it.  The sunshine sparkles through the dizzying display of color.  I'm so happy I caught this because these beautiful leaves will be water-logged blobs laying in my gutters once this storm hits.  Linking up to Your Sunday Best.

Have a great week....stay dry!  Off to check out your photos :)  ~Karen

  1. Congratulations!!! My daughter just celebrated her first anniversary ~ and I remember the joy of the engagement! I was "hiding" and taking pics. And she was completely surprised! It's a fun time ~ I know you'd soak up every moment! I love your sparkle pic - I have been entranced by the leaves this sunny fall...it's been beautiful. We're getting warnings for the storm too (Boston area)...hope that what they are predicting is worse than the reality!
