January 28, 2014 ~ CameraShy Week #4

Week #4 brings us "Creamy".  To add to this challenge, I must find something in my house because it is just too darn cold for me to bundle up and leave the warmth of my cozy cocoon.
Lunch time!!  I've been on a peanut butter kick lately.  I  never ate much of it as a kid, but I LOVE it now.

No grape jelly for me.  It has to be strawberry jelly....or sliced bananas....or strawberry jelly AND sliced bananas.  All of this photography made me hungry and I ate the banana before it made its way onto the sandwich.  Oh well.  As my Dad would say, "it all ends up in the same place!"

 A yummy, "creamy"  PB&J!

Which side of the great debate do you support...Creamy or Crunchy??
Join in on the fun~

January 21, 2014 ~CameraShy Week #3

Week #3 of Ingrid Owens' CameraShy Take 52 Photography Challenge brings us the prompt of "routine".

As I was laying in bed this morning, I noticed a red glow peeking through my blinds.  I dragged myself from my warm bed, threw open thosee blinds, and this is what greeted me:
 Red sky at morning...

Now HERE is the "routine" photo:
...Sailors take warning.
The start of another snowstorm.  What a difference 3 hours can make. This snow and cold has become the routine for this Winter.  Come on, Spring!!

January 19, 2014 ~ Forever Grace

Yikes...the last time I participated in anything photography-related was almost 3 months ago!  I think The Lazy Song, this week's selection for Songography at You'll Shoot Your Eye Out , was directed at me personally.
"Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just want to lay in my bed"
(I blame this on that blog showing on my iPad!)
Sometimes, it's just easier to lay around and look at everything everyone else is doing, flip through the channels, catch up on my reading, and snuggle down with my fuzzy blanket.  Not today though!  Notice the sun shining on my book?!
Instead, I ventured out to catch an exhibit I've been wanting to visit for awhile...From Philadelphia to Monaco: GRACE KELLY Beyond the Icon.    Her charm and style are timeless.  Unfortunately, no photography was allowed, but that just enabled me to soak up the elegance that surrounded her.
(this was BEFORE the actual exhibit...so I was allowed to take this one!)

After strolling through an amazing array of every day wear and ball gowns, love letters from Prince Ranier, notes from other famous people including Bing Crosby, Alfred Hitchcock, Princess Diana, and one hysterical one about Jack Nicholson...guests are invited to write a postcard to Grace.  It's a fascinating exhibit highlighting her love for her husband, children, and friends.  So sad that her life ended so tragically, and so early.

Thanks for stopping by!  ~Karen
