Hazy Shades of Winter by The Bangles

...Seasons change with the scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry...
...Look around,
Leaves are brown,
There's a patch of snow on the ground.
Looking forward to the change from nature's sepia tones to full-blown color!

February 21, 2014 ~ Random 5 Friday

Late Bloomer ~ Amaryllis
1) I tend to see situations in black and white.  That does not mean want to see my surroundings in black and white.  I've decided THAT is the reason this winter is grating on me.  I NEED COLOR!
2) The Olympics make me happy.
3) I am reading A Widow For One Year by John Irving.  Not sure how I feel about it.  Have you read it?
4) Chocolate makes me happy.  I am way too happy lately!
5) Spiders....UGH.  One just crossed my path on my way to check to see if the basement is leaking.  I turned right around.  I hope he drowns.

Have a great weekend!  ~Karen

February 9, 2014 - Song-ography

Danielle Bradbery - My Day
"I always saw it coming
A little light behind the clouds
This is the start of something
My heart believes it now"

Slightly cropped, but otherwise unedited.  What you see if what you get! And I'm seeing the light of the sunshine after the recent ice storm and hoping this is the start of something...like maybe a stretch of warmer weather.  My heart WANTS to believe it, but the weatherman keeps telling me I'm dreaming.

Thanks for stopping by!  ~Karen

February 2, 2014 ~ Song-ography

Geez, Kathy...do you realize it's frigid out there??   And you pick The Proclaimers, I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)?!  Only for my sister will I bundle up and face the elements.

I've heard the song, but I don't think I've ever really listened to what it was saying. After reading the lyrics I came to the conclusion that it's pretty basic.  It sums up everything I feel about my husband...if you add "wo" in front of the word "man"!

Sometimes you have to brave the elements.  Sometimes everything isn't clear.  Sometimes there is a bend in the road.  Sometimes you feel off balance...

"But I would walk five hundred miles
And I would walk five hundred more
Just to be the (wo)man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door"

Thanks for stopping by!  ~Karen
